Dynamic Online Mode: no more Availability trade-off with Efficiency

    Overview

Title: Dynamic Online Mode: no more Availability trade-off with Efficiency

    Duration: 45 minutes

    Available on demand. Click here

    Summary

To overcome the increasing price of energy supply, in the last few years, different eco modes of operation have been representing interesting features in UPS technology. Nevertheless, most of these modes still serve as marketing hype rather than a concrete way of improving data center efficiency, as increased efficiency comes with drawbacks to load availability.

But, do you really need to trade-off availability for higher efficiency in a data center?

During this webinar, we will demonstrate Liebert’s (Vertiv) Dynamic Online mode that enables operating efficiency up to 99% without sacrificing availability: it is able to combine the superior availability of a double conversion operating mode with the excellent energy cost savings of a high efficiency mode for a reduced total cost of ownership.

    The Edge Data Center

    Overview

    Title: The Edge Data Center

    Duration: 45 minutes

    Available on demand. Click here

    Summary

With the emergence of trends such as Big Data, IoT, and the wider hybrid computing environment, we are seeing a three-tier data center architecture developing. This network includes large, cloud-focused data centers and regional facilities, as well as localized, or edge data centers. The historic idea of server rooms and wiring closets being different from data centers is disappearing. Businesses operating in a hybrid environment are beginning to realize that it is the smaller localized data centers that define availability, and not the big centralized data centers.

During this webinar, we will discuss the challenges and trends of edge data centers and analyze them.

    Overview

Title: Innovation and best practices in Data Center Thermal Management solutions

    Duration: 45 minutes

    Available on demand. Click here

    Summary

The spiraling costs of data center energy make it necessary to re-examine traditional design rules and to develop new best practices.  ASHRAE’s new guidelines have moved the air supply temperatures to servers to 24-27 degrees Celsius. The industry has taken the opportunity and re-designed the chilled water supplies to 20-26 degrees Celsius and now to 20-32 degrees Celsius. The move to higher water temperatures has not only saved a lot of energy operational costs but has opened the opportunity for considerable savings from FreeCooling, even in hot climates such as Israel.

During this webinar, we will demonstrate how we can reach efficiency and PUE levels in Israel that are better than northern European data centers build only 3-5 years ago. We will analyze and demonstrate the efficiency and PUE that can be attained with free cooling in cities such as Tel Aviv, Beer Sheva and Jerusalem.
